Bob Barr’s Insults

Bob Barr really made a big mistake by choosing not to be a part of Ron Paul’s Press Conference yesterday.  Ron Paul was offering his endorsement to the major third party candidates to help them get media attention and Barr decided he didn’t want to be a part of this.  According to his blog this is his comment on the matter.

“It became evident to me after meeting with Ron Paul’s staff that this media event was not about promoting the liberty agenda; it was about promoting a man.  That’s not what we’re in this for.”

Respectfully, he did not have to attend and if he didn’t want to be there so be it.  His loss.  However, he took a shot at Ron Paul saying the conference was about him (Paul).  The fact of the matter was Ron Paul was doing the opposite by promoting others.  Barr really owes more respect to a man that has more credibility and has done more for liberty than anyone in the last 30 years.

Barr later mentions that Paul was offered a VP position for the Libertarian Party.  Which would have most definitely insulted Paul.

“Yesterday, our vice presidential candidate, Wayne Allyn Root, offered to step aside to allow Congressman Ron Paul an opportunity to serve on the presidential ticket of the Libertarian Party and move the agenda of Liberty forward.”

To add further insult Barr, a supposed man of Liberty, praises a tyrant with this remark.

“In times of crisis, strength in leadership requires boldness of character, clear direction and firm resolve.  As we witnessed after the attacks of September 11th, President George W. Bush showed incredible leadership as he stood atop a fire truck amidst the rubble of the twin towers to rally America.”

Mr. Barr, you have a lot to learn about Liberty before you try and represent the Libertarian Party!
